Many of you will know that earlier this year, Claire's son Nicolas was diagnosed with Burkitt Lymphoma. It's an aggressive cancer, but one that responds well to treatment in around 90% of cases. And as they came towards the end of his chemotherapy, they truly believed that they were about to celebrate the end of a difficult chapter.
Sadly, that wasn't the outcome.
Nicolas was one of the 10%, and in August they got the news that he was accepted onto a clinical trial that will give him another chance. It's a frightening place to be, but throughout it all the family has been supported by two incredible charities: Teenage Cancer Trust and Young Lives vs Cancer. They've provided practical support, somewhere for Claire and the family to stay close to the hospital, and moments of normality during an incredibly difficult time, and she wanted to find a way to give…
